How It Works

The NFL hub watches every game on the week's slate and overlays 28 badge systemson the markets they affect. Systems are organized across three model frameworks. A badge on a game means the system's trigger conditions are met right now — badges appear and disappear as lines move, weather updates, and news lands.

THE PIPELINE

As often as every 60 seconds — the live board refreshes: odds from every major US book, line-history snapshots, live scores, and game-time weather for outdoor stadiums. All badge systems re-evaluate on each pass.

Through game week — the deep pass pulls player prop markets (anytime TD, first TD, yardage props) inside 48 hours of kickoff, refreshing fastest close to game time, and updates the value models against current prices.

Daily— team efficiency profiles (EPA/play splits), player usage shares (targets, carries, expected touchdowns), injuries, and referee assignments rebuild from full-season data. Early in the season these blend last year's numbers at a declining weight — the same way the market itself prices September football.

THREE NUMBERS TO KNOW

Implied points

Spread + total ⇒ each team's expected score. A −3.5 favorite in a 50.5-total game is implied at 27 points. Every player model starts here.

No-vig probability

Odds with the book's margin stripped out. When our model beats the no-vig number, that's value; when it doesn't, it isn't.

TD Radar score

0–100 anytime-touchdown score: expected TDs per game (from play-by-play models) scaled by today's implied points and the opposing defense. 72+ is an alert.

MARKET MOVEMENTS

Signals read from the odds board itself — no opinions, just where the money is. We snapshot every book every few minutes, track each line from its opener, and flag the moves that professional bettors cause: steam, reverse moves, key-number crosses, and books drifting off market consensus.

Steam Move

Spread moved 1+ ptSpread

The spread has moved a full point or more from its opener (or a half-point burst inside 90 minutes). Coordinated money moves NFL spreads — they rarely drift. The side the line moved TOWARD is the side the money took.

Reverse Line Move

Line vs publicSpread

Most tickets are on one side but the line moved the OTHER way — the book is respecting bigger, sharper money against the crowd. One of the most durable market signals in football.

Key Number Cross

Through 3 or 7Spread

The spread crossed or landed on a key football number (3, 7, then 6/10/4/14). Books defend key numbers fiercely — paying to move through one is a strong statement about where sharp money sits.

Off-Market Number

One book off consensusSpread

One sportsbook is posting a spread a full point (or total 1.5+) away from the market consensus. Either a stale number worth grabbing or a book taking a position — both are actionable.

Total Steam

Total moved 1.5+Total

The game total has moved 1.5+ points from its opener. Totals move on real information — weather, injuries, or sharp positioning — and the direction of the move is the signal.

Frozen Line

Lopsided, not movingSpread

65%+ of tickets are on one side and the book hasn't budged. When the book happily holds a lopsided position, it likes its number — the unpopular side is usually the right one.

ML/Spread Divergence

Prices disagreeMoneyline

The no-vig moneyline implies a different win probability than the spread does. When the two markets disagree by 5+ points of probability, one of them is mispriced.

PURE STATS

Models built on the underlying football: EPA efficiency profiles (blended with last season until this one has enough games), matchup funnels, rest and travel, weather at kickoff, referee tendencies, and player-usage models for touchdowns and props. If it can be computed from data, it lives here.

EPA Mismatch

Efficiency edgeSpread

Net EPA/play (offense vs the defense it faces, both directions) favors one side by 0.10+ per play — roughly a touchdown of expected margin the raw records may not show. Early season blends last year at declining weight.

Pass Funnel

Throw on themPlayer props

The opposing defense is stout against the run but leaky through the air — offenses get funneled into passing. Boosts QB passing yards, WR/TE receiving props, and passing TDs.

Rush Funnel

Run on themPlayer props

The opposing defense shuts down the pass but gets gashed on the ground. Game script funnels into carries — boosts RB rushing yards and rushing TD props.

Rest Edge

3+ extra rest daysSpread

One team has 3+ extra days of rest. The nuance the market learned: the classic OFF-THE-BYE team is actually 48% ATS over the last decade (overbet by everyone), while the quieter mini-bye after Thursday football is still worth about half a point. We badge the mini-bye at medium and the bye at low.

Division Dog

Big dog, familiar foeSpread

A divisional underdog getting 6.5+ points. Division games are played twice a year between teams that know each other — big spreads compress, and division dogs cover at an above-average clip.

Primetime Under

Night game, high totalTotal

A standalone night game with a 47+ total. Honesty box: this famous angle has gone roughly 50/50 since 2017 — the market caught up. We surface it as context only, never as a strong signal. When it stacks with wind or a total steam move, that combination is the real story.

Wind Alert

15+ mph sustainedTotal

Sustained wind of 15+ mph (or 25+ gusts) at an outdoor stadium. Wind is the single most reliable weather factor in football — it kills deep passing and field goals, and totals historically go under.

Weather Under

Wind + rain/snow/coldTotal

A compound weather spot: meaningful wind PLUS heavy precipitation chances, snow, or brutal cold, with a total still posted at 44+. The market adjusts for weather slowly and often not enough.

Dome Boost

Indoor track meetTotal

Two efficient offenses meeting indoors on turf with the total still under 47. Perfect conditions, no weather variance — the scoring environment outruns the number.

Flag-Happy Crew

High-penalty refereeTotal

This week's crew chief calls meaningfully more penalties than league average. Flags extend drives, add free yards, and nudge games over.

Whistle-Away Crew

Low-penalty refereeTotal

A crew that swallows the whistle: fewer penalties, fewer free first downs, faster games. A quiet lean to the under, and a friend to defensive props.

Point-Diff Edge

Margin beats recordSpread

Season point differential says one team is meaningfully better than the market's framing of this matchup. Records lie; margins don't — the market prices the record.

QB Downgrade

Starter out/doubtfulSpread

A quarterback is Out or Doubtful on the official injury report. QB is the only position worth multiple points of spread — verify the line has fully adjusted before backing the shorthanded side.

TD Radar Alert

Elite TD equityPlayer props

A player clears the TD Radar threshold — expected-touchdowns usage in a strong scoring environment puts his anytime-TD probability in the elite tier for this slate.

First TD Value

Mispriced first scorePlayer props

Our modeled first-touchdown probability (team script share × player TD share) beats the market's implied probability at the best available price. First TD is the most mispriced market on the board.

Anytime TD Value

Model > marketPlayer props

The TD Radar probability beats the no-vig market probability by 7+ points at the best available book. Positive expected value on the most popular prop in football.

Prop Smash Spot

Volume meets funnelPlayer props

A high-volume player pointed directly at a funnel defense — the matchup and the workload agree. The strongest yardage-prop setup the model produces.

Volume King

Elite usage sharePlayer props

Target share of 28%+ or WOPR of 0.65+ — target hogs with elite weighted opportunity. Volume is the most predictive stat in player props; talent slumps, usage persists.

SOCIAL PROOF

What the betting public is actually doing: live ticket % vs money % splits per game — to follow the big-money side when it diverges from the crowd, and to fade lopsided public sides the line refuses to confirm. An expert-consensus panel is wired and coming; until it ships, no badge will pretend it exists.

Expert Consensus

70%+ of experts agreeSpread

At least 70% of our tracked expert panel — sharp writers, respected pods, verified-record cappers — is on the same side this week. When the smart crowd clusters, we surface it.

Money vs Tickets

Big bets one waySpread

The money percentage is 15+ points higher than the ticket percentage on one side — fewer, bigger bets against many small ones. Follow the dollars, not the crowd.

Contrarian Fade

Everyone on one sideSpread

72%+ of tickets on one side with no confirming line move. Heavy public sides underperform — the books built skyscrapers on this one. Low confidence alone; strong when paired with a market badge.

READING THE BADGES

Rim color is confidence.Gold = the system's strongest trigger. Silver = solid signal. Bronze = context worth knowing, not a bet on its own.

Badges stack. One badge is a data point. Three or four systems agreeing on the same side — a steam move, an EPA edge, and a sharp money split all pointing one way — is the whole point of this site.

Market and Stats are independent by design. Market badges can't see the stats and stat badges can't see the odds moves, so when those two agree, that agreement is the edge. Social badges share the public-splits feed with a couple of market systems — treat overlap there as one signal, not two.
